Librarian, Weil, Gotshal & Manges, D.C.

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, an international law firm, is seeking a Librarian to assist in the Firm’s Law Library. As part of the Library team, the Librarian will support the daily operation of the Law Library. Duties include – but not limited to: Research assistance to attorneys and paralegals using both print and online resources including Patent document research and legislative research and inter-library loans; Serials check-in and dissemination of all current material including electronic and print for over 1,000 subscriptions; Pre-cataloging new titles and new editions; Supervise library filing service with book processing and loose leaf filing. In addition, the Librarian will work with the Library Manager on special projects.

Candidates must have a Masters of Library Science. One to two years of Law Library experience preferred, with demonstrated expertise in reference, inter-library loan services. Strong skills using legal and specialized databases such as LEXIS, Courtlink, WestLaw, WestLaw Business, and Dialog for Patent research. Previous knowledge of Sydney Online Catalog desirable. Qualified applicants must be resourceful and detail oriented, exhibit excellent research, written and oral communication skills, and must rapidly gather and accurately summarize information.

Weil, Gotshal and Manges LLP is located in downtown D.C. convenient to Metro Center and McPherson Square Metro Stations.
