Part Time Legislative Librarian, Dickstein Shapiro LLP, D.C.

Dickstein Shapiro LLP, a prominent DC-based law firm is currently looking for a Part Time Legislative Librarian. Primary responsibilities include performing legislative history research for the Firm’s attorneys and legal support staff on both the federal and state level. This individual will be asked to work between 20 and 25 hours a week handling the legislative information needs of the Firm, reviewing new legislative resources, as well as preparing and maintaining intranet legislative content for use by Firm attorneys and legal support staff.

Qualified applicants will be able to utilize cutting edge electronic resources as well as traditional print sources in performance of the primary job responsibilities; a Master’s degree in Library Science (MLS) is preferred. At least three years experience in a law firm or a government affairs firm; a highly developed ability to analyze information and organize resources; and the ability to communicate effectively in both verbal and written forms is expected. Individual must also have knowledge of legislative, legal, and business research techniques and tools, both hard copy and online; including Lexis, Westlaw, Courtlink, CQ Online and GalleryWatch databases.
