Librarian, Supreme Court of Missouri, MO

The Supreme Court of Missouri seeks a highly qualified individual to be librarian of the Supreme Court Library. As the law library for the state of Missouri, the Supreme Court Library serves the research needs of the Supreme Court, the attorney general’s office, the General Assembly, and the state’s executive branch agencies and departments. The library also serves members of the bench and bar and the general public. It is located in the Supreme Court Building directly across from the Capitol. The library has 110,000 volumes, maintains periodicals, text books, and decisions and statutes from other jurisdictions as well as Missouri. It is a resource for legal historical research, and obtains support through the Supreme Court Historical Society, a membership organization. The librarian supervises all aspects of the library’s services and functions and a small staff. The librarian should be have management experience, post-baccalaureate academic qualifications, and the ability to marshal historical and legal resources to support the work of the courts and state government, and to enhance the public’s understanding of law, legal history, and the functions of the judicial branch.

Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications up to $70,000.
