Despite signs that the economy is recovering, there is still fear about job losses and the economy itself. I was actually talking about this with a friend last night – that despite what the economists say, those of us who have been affected by unemployment aren’t as hopeful because jobs have yet to become plentiful and there are still predictions that there might be more jobs lost. So I think there’s this dividing line between those that see how far the economy has to go on a personal level (along with those people worried about losing their jobs) versus those that are seeing some signs of recovery. Thoughts?

There might be signs of recovery in some sectors, including various employment areas, however, there are a lot of places that aren’t going to see recovery or real progress for at least another year. So I don’t feel like anyone can truly feel confident or comfortable that improvement and hope is immediately on the horizon. I’m not saying hope is lost or going down some pessimistic slide … just that I think it’s still going to be awhile before many of us see the job market change for the better. And some of us that came from the law firm world may never see those jobs opening up again because of the apparent shifts in the way they will be doing business from now on.
