Description: The Reference/Faculty Services Librarian serves as a member of the Reference Department with four professional librarians and will be responsible for coordinating all faculty outreach and research services. The primary duties of the position are:
Developing and coordinating initiatives and programs to support faculty research including: Monitoring the quality, effectiveness and timeliness of reference assistance provided to faculty and recommending, as needed, steps to improve service; managing all aspects of the faculty research assistants program; developing and coordinating training for faculty on the use of databases and library resources; developing and maintaining methods for receiving, distributing and tracking faculty reference questions; and engaging the faculty through individualized services and group activities.
The Reference/Faculty Services Librarian will work with other reference librarians to provide extensive reference and research assistance to patrons. This includes: Providing liaison services to an assigned group of faculty members; preparing research bibliographies, user guides and other research aids; participating in the selection of information resources; working at the reference desk, providing reference and research assistance to faculty, students, staff, the local bar and the public; and developing and marketing outreach initiatives to educate faculty and students about library services.
The Reference/Faculty Services librarian will participate in teaching first year legal research and persuasion courses and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements: The successful candidate will have a JD from an ABA approved law school and an MLS from an ALA accredited institution with a minimum of two years experience in an academic, court or law firm library and a demonstrated record of providing sophisticated research assistance to faculty or attorneys. A minimum of two years teaching/training experience and some evening and weekend hours are required.

A. dual degree programs on campus. Additional collection strengths include intellectual property, small business administration and environmental law.
