Just in case

The WSJ had an article yesterday on job seekers trying to erase their criminal pasts. With the high unemployment rate, more employers can be picky about who they hire. Also, more companies are conducting background checks on potential hires.

The WSJ also had an article this week about the consequences of laid off workers living off big severance payouts and savings without adjusting their lifestyles. Since it is taking longer for a lot of unemployed workers to find jobs, there can sometimes be consequences in not cutting expenses early.
